About This Page

MAIN PAGE:  This website is named, “Creative In His Image.com” because we were created in the Image of God.  One of the main ways that we reflect being created in the His Image is the gift of creativity.  We also believe that the highest use for our creativity is to glorify the Lord.  Therefore this website is full of creative offerings (music, literature, photos, etc.).  Our purpose is stated in the Latin phrase, “Utens Nobid Creativity Ad Serviendum Domino.”  The English translation is, “Using Our Creativity to Serve the Lord.”  We invite you to freely browse this website to experience the various areas.  You can enjoy the humor, listen to the music and experience many of these areas free of charge.  The Spiritual Songs has complete albums of music which you can push, PLAY ALL and listen to the whole album at home or at work.  Enjoy…….. NOTE:  This website is in process of adding a good deal more content in many areas, so we encourage you to visit us periodically.  We are in the process of completing the recording of the entire epistle of joy, Philippians.  You can memorize the entire epistle by singing the choruses.

AUDIO BOOKS:  The Audio books can be enjoyed by themselves or in conjunction with the written books (E-books, paperbacks or Hard Cover). We are offering special prices for bundling the Audio book with one of the written books.  We will soon be offering a special Enhanced Audio/Video books).

CHILDREN’S BOOKS:  We have a special series of children’s books that are both entertaining and educational.  We have designed these stories to combine high quality music with creative story-telling.  This “Rhythmic-Rhyming-Timing Tales” series is designed to tell creative stories utilizing many poetic devices (rhythm, rhymes, poetic feet and alliteration).  The stories always include a life lesson and support family values.  The stories are designed for children of all ages – full of twists of fate and humorous situations.    There are many educational elements to these stories.  As a child not only listens to but also learns to recite these stories they naturally develop their ability to articulate and think creatively.  These books are suitable for schools and in the instruction in recognizing and the use of literary devices, as well as lessons in recitation.
HUMOR/SKITS:  This section is just for fun.  The Quickwits are shorts skits with special filters to create various characters.  The “Ralph and Kitty” series depicts many scenarios which married couples are very familiar with – but with an added element:  the married couple are a cat and dog.  We will also add some skits/plays which we have performed and are available to be performed.   We will eventually include at least an audio version of these plays.
PEGGY’S PHOTO GALLERY:  These photos are a sample of Peggy Oquist’s excellent photography.  We will be periodically added to the current categories and adding more categories as time goes on.  Once again, we invite you to visit this site periodically.

SPIRITUAL SONGS:  These are Songs written and performed primarily by Russell Lee Oquist.  Peggy Oquist is the alto voice that  you will often hear.  The soprano voice is usually Olivia Simko.  Many of the songs are Scripture songs, with various scriptures featured.   Other songs deal with spiritual issues that we face – the trials, temptations and triumphs of walking with the Lord Jesus Christ.  We invite you to listen to the music and pray that you will be blessed by these offerings.  We are also in the process of recording all of Philippians – both to the express the wonderful, message of this epistle of joy and to aid you in its memorization.

CHORAL:  This section incudes choral works that have been either composed by Russell Oquist or conducted by him.  Over the years we have performed many choral works (often with orchestra), some of which we will add to this section. Russell has written many choral compositions including a Christmas Cantata (So God Became A Man) and an Easter Oratoria (Who Has Believed Our Report) There are too many compositions to add to this section and as such, we will just include a sampling of works.   There are many great works which we invite you to listen to on other websites, such as:  Handel’s Messiah, Bach’s Magnificat, Brahm’s Requiem, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, etc.

INSTRUMENTAL:  This section includes instrumental works, such as woodwind quintets, septets, string ensembles, synthesizer (Electronic Bach’s Magnificat) and full orchestral works.  We will be adding more pieces periodically.

CHILDREN’S MUSICALS:  We will written several children’s musicals.  We have the score, parts and video recordings of some of the performances.  Peggy Oquist designed and constructed the costumes for these productions. We will eventually add some of these videos either to this website or to Youtube and link this website to the site.
